Research Paper
Each student will be responsible for writing an original academic research paper. You may choose a topic as long as it involves some aspect of public personnel management. I suggest that you look at the table of contents for possible subjects.
Research will include at a minimum four academic journal articles. This is a minimum requirement and once you have read and included the articles in the paper, you may use other sources such as books or newspapers. On your work cited page, I only want to see sources that you cite within the text of the paper.
As an IRSC student, you have access to thousands of journal articles and you do not need to come to one of our campuses to access the library. If you have questions about how to access journal articles from home, please contact either me or the library.
The paper should be 8-10 pages not including the cover or reference pages It should be double-spaced with one inch margins and 12 point font. The paper must conform to APA publication standards. If you do not have a copy of the APA Manual, I suggest that you take a look at our library’s APA libguide which can be found at http://irsc.libguides.com/apa. Another excellent source is Purdue University’s reference site called Purdue Owl — https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/10/.
