On July 9, 1896, William Jennings Bryan gave a speech that is remembered as the “Cross of Gold” speech. Some commentators have called Bryan’s speech one of the greatest, if not the absolute greatest, in American political history.
Click on the link above to access Bryan’s “Cross of Gold” speech. The entire text is available to you. (There is an audio option for parts of the speech but I could not get it to work.) I want you to read this speech. It is an excellent speech. Bryan was mesmerizing when he spoke.
Use the following prompts to write your paper.

1. The paper must be at least two full pages in length. It should not be more than five pages.
