Assignment Details After reading the three resources, identify four attributes about smoke and what these attributes can tell you about the fire in a 3-4 page paper (excluding the title page and references page). Explain why these attributes are important and how they can help you effectively utilize resources, including the deployment of personnel and equipment and deployment and methods of the application of extinguishing agents. Explain how attributes about smoke can help you identify future fire events. In addition, address the following questions as they relate to the video “ Big house fire caught on tape 12.18.09.” Note: This is one of the videos included in the article “Reading Smoke & Go/No-Go Decisions.” Describe the initial smoke conditions (color, volume, force, and other attributes). What do you think is burning? At 1:42 into the video, the smoke conditions change color on the “A” side of the structure. What does this change of color indicate? When you see fire coming out of the roof, the smoke conditions on the “A” side dramatically decrease. Why is that? Where do you find out where the fire actually is? Discuss whether there were adequate resources (firefighters, apparatus, water, etc.) to handle this incident and were they deployed properly.
